Getting Started with Glyca
Welcome! This guide will help you set up Glyca and start managing your diabetes with AI-powered insights in under 5 minutes.
1. Download & Install
- Download Glyca from the App Store
- Open the app and tap "Get Started"
- Confirm you are 13 years or older
2. Complete Your Profile
Glyca needs some basic information to personalize your experience:
- Name & Contact — for your records and emergency contact
- Diabetes Type — Type 1, Type 2, Pre-Diabetic, or Gestational
- Height & Weight — used for health plan calculations
- Target A1c — your goal (ask your doctor if unsure)
- Dietary Preferences — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.
- Allergies — comma-separated list
3. Set Your Schedule
Go to More → Profile & Settings → Meal Times to set:
- Wake Up Time — when you typically wake
- Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner — your usual meal times
- Bedtime — when you go to sleep
💡 Tip: These times are used to auto-select reading types, schedule notifications, and provide AI timing recommendations.
4. Enable Notifications
Glyca will ask for notification permission during setup. When enabled, you'll receive reminders:
- 5 minutes before each meal — "Check sugar before breakfast"
- 2 hours after each meal — "Check sugar (2hr after lunch)"
5. Add Your First Reading
From the Dashboard, use the Quick Reading card:
- The reading type auto-selects based on current time
- Enter your sugar level (mg/dL)
- Optionally add what you ate and exercise minutes
- Tap the + button to save
6. Subscribe
Glyca offers a free trial period. After that, choose:
- Monthly: $4.99/month
- Annual: $29.99/year (Save 50%)
