Frequently Asked Questions

How does the scoring work?

Fyntra scores every stock on four dimensions: Value (P/E, PEG, EV/EBITDA), Growth (revenue/EPS growth, forward estimates), Quality (ROE, margins, debt levels), and Momentum (RSI, MACD, moving averages). Each dimension gets a score of 0-100, then they're combined into a composite score with a letter grade (A+ to F) and BUY/HOLD/SELL recommendation.

What's the difference between Short-Term and Long-Term mode?

Short-Term weighs momentum and technicals heavily (65%) — designed for active traders looking for entries in the next days/weeks. Long-Term weighs valuation and profitability heavily (50% combined) — designed for investors holding for months/years. The same stock can be a "BUY" short-term but a "HOLD" long-term (or vice versa).

How often does data refresh?

The screener universe (12,000+ stocks) refreshes 3 times daily (pre-market, midday, after-hours). Watchlist analysis fetches real-time data on-demand when you tap "Analyze." Cached results expire after 60 minutes.

How do I import my portfolio from a brokerage?

Go to Portfolio tab → tap "+" → Import CSV. Export a positions CSV from your brokerage (Fidelity, Schwab, Robinhood, Vanguard, E*Trade, etc.) and import it. Fyntra auto-detects the brokerage format and maps columns.

What are Support and Resistance levels?

Support levels are prices where a stock is likely to stop falling (S1: 50-EMA, S2: 200-DMA, S3: 52-week low). Resistance levels are where it may stall going up (R1: 52-week high, R2: round number, R3: 2× ATR above). Use these to plan entries, exits, and stop-losses.

Is my portfolio data secure?

Yes. All portfolio data is stored locally on your device — it never leaves your phone. When you analyze a watchlist, only the ticker symbols (e.g., "AAPL") are sent to our servers, not your dollar amounts or holdings.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Fyntra → Cancel Subscription. You'll retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

Why does a stock show "—" for some metrics?

Some companies don't report certain metrics (e.g., pre-revenue biotech companies have no P/E ratio). The scoring engine only grades dimensions where data is available, so the score remains meaningful even with gaps.

Is this financial advice?

No. Fyntra is an informational tool. Scores, grades, and recommendations are algorithmically generated from public data and should not be the sole basis for investment decisions. Always do your own research and consider consulting a financial advisor.
