Overview
Fyntra ("the App") is a stock screener and portfolio tracker developed by Consulen LLC. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
- Portfolio Data: Stock holdings, purchase prices, quantities, and watchlist tickers you add. All stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage.
- Screener Preferences: Your scoring parameters, filter settings, and display preferences. Stored locally on your device.
- Imported Data: If you import a CSV from your brokerage, the data is processed locally and never leaves your device.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.
- Network Requests: When you run the stock screener or watchlist analysis, ticker symbols are sent to our secure backend (AWS) to retrieve market data. We do not log which tickers you search or analyze.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personally identifiable information.
- We do not collect your brokerage login credentials.
- We do not sell, share, or transmit your portfolio data to any third party.
- We do not track which stocks you buy, sell, or watch.
- We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel).
How We Use Your Data
- Portfolio Display: Your holdings are used solely to show you gain/loss, allocation, and scoring information within the app.
- Market Data Retrieval: Ticker symbols from your watchlist are sent to our backend to fetch real-time prices and fundamentals. No portfolio dollar amounts are ever transmitted.
- Screener: The screener downloads a bulk market data file from our servers. No personal data is sent in this request.
Third-Party Services
- Financial Modeling Prep (FMP): Market data provider. Receives ticker symbols to return financial data. Their privacy policy: FMP Privacy Policy.
- Alpha Vantage: Supplemental market data. Receives ticker symbols only. Their privacy policy: Alpha Vantage Terms.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Our backend infrastructure. Data is processed in the US (us-east-1 region). No personal data is stored on our servers beyond temporary cached market data (expires after 60 minutes).
- Apple StoreKit: Handles subscription purchases. Apple processes payment information directly — we never see your credit card or Apple ID.
Data Storage & Security
- All portfolio and watchlist data is stored locally on your device.
- Settings, watchlists, and preferences sync via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store to your other devices signed into the same Apple ID. This data is encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest.
- Our backend caches market data (not your data) temporarily in encrypted DynamoDB tables with automatic 60-minute expiry.
- All network communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Subscriptions
Fyntra offers optional Pro subscriptions managed through Apple's App Store. Subscription information is handled entirely by Apple. We can see whether your subscription is active, but we cannot see your payment method, Apple ID, or billing address.
Children's Privacy
Fyntra is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. The App is designed for adult investors and traders.
Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- Delete the app to remove all data permanently.
- Use the "Clear All Data" option in Settings to reset without uninstalling.
- No server-side data exists to delete — we don't store your portfolio information.
Your Rights
Under CCPA, GDPR, and other applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Know what data we collect (this page fulfills that right).
- Request deletion of any data (see above — it's all local).
- Opt out of data sales (we do not sell any data).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
