Overview

Glyca ("the App") is a diabetes management tool that helps users track blood glucose levels, medications, meals, exercise, and water intake. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how it's used, and your rights.

Data We Collect

• Health Data: Blood glucose readings, medications, meal logs, exercise logs, water intake, and lab test results that you manually enter.
• HealthKit Data: With your permission, we read and write blood glucose data to Apple HealthKit.
• Location Data: Used only to find nearby restaurants for menu recommendations. Not stored or transmitted to our servers.
• Profile Information: Name, email, phone, height, weight, diabetes type, dietary preferences — stored locally on your device.
• Anonymous Analytics: We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (which features are used, screen views) using TelemetryDeck. This data contains no personal information, no health data, and cannot identify you. No tracking consent is required because no personal data is collected. See TelemetryDeck's Privacy Policy.

How Data Is Stored

All personal health data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your personal iCloud Key-Value Store (Apple's encrypted cloud storage tied to your Apple ID). We do not operate servers that store your health information. We cannot access your data. Only you and devices signed into your Apple ID can access your synced data.

Third-Party Services

• Groq AI (LLM API): When you use AI-powered features (menu recommendations, medication analysis, health plans, lab result explanations, diet recommendations), the following data is sent to Groq, Inc. for processing:
  • Blood glucose readings and history
  • Medications and dosages
  • Meal history and dietary preferences
  • Lab test results (test name and value only)
  • Diabetes type, height, and weight
  • Exercise logs

  Privacy safeguards: Before any data is sent to Groq, the App automatically strips all personally identifiable information (PII) including your name, email address, and phone number. Only anonymized health metrics are transmitted.

  The App requests your explicit consent before any data is shared with Groq's AI service. You can revoke consent at any time in Profile & Settings. Groq does not store your data after processing and does not use your data to train AI models. See Groq's Privacy Policy.

• TelemetryDeck (Analytics): We use TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics (e.g., which features are popular, how often AI features are used). TelemetryDeck is privacy-first by design: no personal data, no device fingerprinting, no IP addresses stored, no tracking consent required. Data is processed in the EU. • Apple MapKit: Used for restaurant search. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
• Apple HealthKit: Used with your explicit permission to sync glucose readings.
• Apple StoreKit: Used for subscription management. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect personally identifiable usage data or track individual users.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or display ads.
• We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data to third parties for marketing.
• We do not create user accounts or require registration.
• We do not store your health data on our servers — we have no servers.
• We do not send your name, email, phone, or location to any third party.

Your Rights

• Delete Account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile & Settings → "Delete Account & All Data". This removes all data from your device and iCloud.
• Reset Data: You can reset specific health data from Profile & Settings → "Reset All Data".
• Revoke AI Consent: You can disable AI features and revoke data sharing consent at any time from Profile & Settings → "AI Data Sharing".
• Export: You can export your data as CSV or PDF from the Export section.
• Revoke Permissions: You can revoke HealthKit, Location, or Photo access at any time in iOS Settings.

Children's Privacy

Glyca is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
